About Me

Thank you for your interest in me and my coaching practice!

I’m Sah Nelson (they/them). I’m located in the beautiful and lush Pacific Northwest in Portland, OR.

My path to becoming a Functional Medicine Health Coach was a personal one. I’ve had a series of concussions and health accidents that radically altered my life. I’ve worked closely with multiple doctors to optimize and restore my health over the last several years. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree at Reed College in 2019 while managing many complex health issues.

I graduated from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in August 2022. They are the only Functional Medicine coaching provider that is directly affiliated with IFM, the official Institute for Functional Medicine. The program specializes in Functional Medicine, nutrition, positive psychology, health coaching, and mind-body medicine. For more information on FMCA, please see their website here.

I am intimately familiar with how physical and emotional trauma affects one’s health, and I am passionate about helping others manage their own health and wellness. I offer a multifaceted, organic, and trauma-aware form of Functional Medicine Health coaching and spiritual coaching. As part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I strive to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all. I offer a sliding scale for those who are lower income; please pay what you can.

I also work as a Humanities and writing tutor, and I have a certification in TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language). Please inquire with me if you are interested in private tutoring, creative catharsis work, astrological interpretations and guidance, or tarot readings.

I have many hobbies and interests, most notably being a lover of music. I am a singer with a particular joy for devising improvisations, a cappella, and spoken word pieces, along with writing poetry and dabbling in novice photography. Some of my other interests include nature walks, meditation, gentle yoga, writing and researching religion, spirituality, philosophy, science, history, and psychology.
